I played GM Pal Benko (go figure) in a simul many, many years ago when I was playing club chess.

After 12 moves I was backpedalling - After 15 moves I dropped the bike I was riding and started to run! - I coughed up my first piece on move 18 and decided to hurl everything I had (including my Queen) at his King's position. He swatted my attack away like the annoying insect that I was and on move 23 I stood up, handed him my King and shook hands. 

He was a perfect gentleman!! 

she just beat me... okay so she beat me a long time ago, but the resign button is still warm.

since i'm playing her in a tournament, the rematch is happening now. Hopefully, she will make each and every move i made in the last game so that i can beat her this time with her own moves.

I played against Josh Colas at camp and I was actually winning, but we had to stop the game.

GM Markus Ragger and IM WGM Eva Moser, strongest male resp. female player of Austria, in simuls.

Peter Hlinka, who is a rather famous soccer player here in Austria (formerly played for the Czech national team), is in my chess club, he is a quite strong chess player too (about 1900), but I've never got to play him.

I played GM Alexandra Kosteniuk last year in a rated OTB game in Kristiansund, Norway.

(And I drew Magnus Carlsen, and beat Nakamura in simuls on ICC).

GM Johnny Hector in sim and won.

For being such a Patzer... I have played quite a few strong players OTB... GM's Yury Shulman, Alex Goldin, Magesh Panchanathan, And IM's Anna Zatonskih, Jacek Stopa, Calvin Blocker, Daniel Ludwig, and John Bryant.  I lost all of them but one: I drew against Stopa.

IM Igor Ivanov, otb tournament...GM Susan Polgar, simul...GM Walter Browne simul...lost em all.

I've had the honor of getting my butt kicked by GMs Ronen Har-Zwi and Susan Polgar in simuls, IM Larry Evans in blitz, and GM John Federovich in both.

Nigel Short in a couple of blitz games. After he played 1.e4 I thought of the advice for beginners to not focus on openings, as I reflexively played 1 ...d6 and realised I didn't know any other moves in the pirc defence. The photographer and crowd added to the experience!

I have played against GM David Smerdon in a simul, and lost, and IM Andras Toth, also in a simul, and lost. The only way I'll ever get to play a good player!

I have played only one titled player in OTB, and that was an FM. Lost, but only due to time trouble and I had a drawn position as black.

Although a GM did ask me to use my clock in a tournament game recently. I guess that's my greatest claim to fame :p
