This is actually pretty close to Tal's method, which he describes in his book on his 1960 World Championship match with Botvinnik.

Which reminds me, we also seem to be in the TAIMITTC era (The Acronym Is More Important Than The Content).

It makes me wonder why. I think it's because people are interested in finding 'initiates' (I do not know how to say it in English, something like 'veteran' or 'part of the club') in some subject or philosophy or religion or political ideology or even some sport. Then you use the acronym as a kind of secret code or signal between the members. Then you remember that it might be better to give some hint of what the acronym means and expand it in parentheses (perhaps hoping to acquire new members?).
