We all know that chess.com has a policy that aborting, abandoning, and timing out on games peanlizes you. That penalty is being placed in a pool with other members commiting the same acts.
So as an experiment, I aborted, etc. a ton of games, so i could be placed in the pool with the bottom feeders.
Talk about a train wreck??? Its hell on earth. If you want to witness cheating/sandbagging/e-thuggery at its best, thats the pool you want to experience.
I cant wait to get out of there.
You didn't play any rated games during your experiment.
Not that the ratings here really matter, but they are perceived by players as having some value and the only measure of success obtainable here. It seems reasonable to assume that people playing unrated games are less likely to care about the results.
With unrated games, there is not even the pretense that the games matter and so any cheating/thuggery/sandbagging exhibited there matters even less, doesn't it? What would be the point of cheating/sandbagging if one obtains nothing from winning?
How is that a valid experiment?
