What would I name my pieces to help in my "evaluation over the board situation"? The suicidal knight. The blind queen. The amazing resigning king. The flying board.

imagination adds life and character to every piece of chess piecess involveit helps me alot on evaluations over the board, idont insist on suggesting it to you.

Actually naming pieces relative to their positional advantage or disadvantage is a valuable coaching technique. Your thread is a friendly reminder to use it more often to help students remember.

Mark... Im a middle school chess coach and many of the students I coach at the start have never even touched a chess piece... let alone play chess. Any coaching techniques like those mentioned above really do help.
btw... if the avatar is you, congrats... took a lot of sweat and time to look like that. You look like Frank Zane.
