In contrast, Hans looks mature. He stayed to finish all games. I can’t imagine how he can bear to play  under this horrific condition. But he did 👍

Looks mature?  If you are 13 years old, sure, he looks mature, I suppose.

It is true that it remains very unclear how it is possible to cheat in Sinquefield. But that is a separate question.

To flatter by analogy, when a conjurer produces a dove from an egg placed in a hat, it is possible to be sure the egg did not hatch without having a clue how he did it.

His performance in St Louis was not miraculous. Not overall and not in any specific game.

Hans is 19 years old and he behaves just like a 19 year old. He’s refreshing and unpolished. He says things that a typical none famous 19 year would say. Carlson Has been famous for many  many years. If he can’t act like a 31 year old he should at least act like 25 years old. I don’t think it’s too much to ask of him. But he’s acting like a 9 year old. I’m not trying to insult him. Really He needs to fire his entire team !! Nobody in his team is telling him how to act properly that’s befitting his best chess player world champion status!!

Alireza is also 19.  The difference in their maturity levels is striking.  But we get it, you do not like Magnus.

Lol some Carlsen simp downvoting people who calls Magnus Carlsen a child. Guess his fanbase is the same age in their minds.

llama36

I got downvoted too. Some people just downvote lots of stuff.

Anyway, @gbtgba is either acting like an idiot or it's not an act. Either way it's not worth responding to him.

betgo

Easy for the cheater act calmer and more mature than the guy who has been cheated.

Elroch

Hans does look like he has had anal beads implanted.

(Just trying to balance the inappropriate comments about Magnus).

Post to remind everyone Hans has not been caught cheating at the OTB tournament, nor has the SL management found anything odd in his game, and no matter how many different ways you spin your numbers and try to manipulate the statistics, there's no proof Hans cheated OTB. As a  matter of fact, proof shows he DID NOT cheat.

So no matter how much simping for the manchild Magnus you do, Magnus will never invite you to dinner grin.png

Zero evidence, this is a witch trial pure and simple.   Has-been grandmasters feel threatened, disgusting!  He should sue for defamation and only talk to the public through his attorney!

It would be great if he would do that, but he is probably not dumb enough to do something which would ensure large resources were used to get to the truth.

Over the period 2019-2020, an extraordinary 67% of the variation in Niemann's results was explained by whether there was a live relay or not.  All of his results with live relay were superior to all of his results without live relay. This would be statistically remarkable as a fluke. (The small sample in Sinquefield 2022 saw him getting 2.5/3 with live relay, then 2/6 with delayed relay, an interesting contrast on its own - like the best player in the tournament having an excellent run, followed by the weakest player in the tournament struggling at the rear. In itself, a statistical outlier. In context, no fluke).

No one has to be "simping" for Carlsen to downvote silly, immature, unhelpful and provocative posts from edgelords.

A performance comparison in St. Louis before/after the broadcast delay is meaningless - the pressure he was under after the firestorm ignited was extreme.  Multiple players noted the conditions in their interviews - it affected everyone.

I got this idea from nervesofbutter when he posted the meme first. I just made it in a gif.

I thought the Brittney guy was funny.

In the recent 14 round Candidates tournament multiple players had inverted 2nd halves. Some started weak and finished well, others the reverse. Caruana had a miserable 2nd half (5/7 followed by 1.5/7). Ding had an amazing 2nd half (3/7 followed by 5/7).

Some plausible stories are that Ding was suffering from jet lag, and Fabi took more risks the more he fell behind the leaders... but Hans also has a story, that immediately after round 3 the  whole world was suddenly accusing him.

I don't want to come off as defending him, I think he's very suspicious, I'm just arguing nothing is clear here.

That last sentence doesn't make sense.  You should have stuck with it affects Hans more than anyone else wink.png.  If it "affected everyone", then Hans would not have gone 2/6 the rest of the tournament...well, unless something else affected the quality of his play.

I agree. We have all spoken enough. We have voiced popular opinions and unpopular opinions (probably making us unpopular as well). Iets wait for Magnus Carlsen to speak.

I doubt he's going to speak, and there's no reason to wait, the investigation should continue.  Each tournament provides new info.
