I like it but I propose an addition...when a player castles there must follow 2 games of 'rock, paper, scissors'. If the castling player loses both he must resign. If the castling player wins both he gets an extra move. If both are drawn then the chess game is immediately drawn by 'RPS repetition'.
New interesting variant of chess

I like the way you think.

One other addition: each player is allowed to place one land mine on any square on the board not occupied in the starting position. This land mine is hidden and its location is only revealed to the tournament director. Any piece that moves to this square is immediately blown up. If this results in your king being in check on your opponent's move, you lose instantly. You also lose instantly if your king blows up.
You may be able to guess where your opponent placed a land mine by what square they seem to be trying to avoid.
After your landmine is destroyed, you can place a new one on any unoccupied square. Thus, you might intentionally sacrifice a piece on your own land mine to relocate the land mine to another square.
Actually, this might deserve its own variant.

How about evolution Chess? You declare any rule you want, roll some dice, and if you get an even number for rule takes effect. If it's a 5 you win and 3 or 1 you resign. Basically if you suck at Chess you can just change the contest into a tug o war or a paintball fight.

how about a new variant where every time it's your turn you get to throw pieces at your opponent. your pieces of course, not theirs.

I propose a variant of chess, called, "power of en passant" - it is very similar to chess, but there is just one rule:
"Every time a player uses the move en passant, flip a fair coin twice - if both are heads, the opponent is forced to instantly resign".
Thoughts? En passant is a very powerful technique, so this game makes sense.
Think about it carefully - now, every time a player wants to try and close the position, where e.p. is not necessarily advantageous positionally, it is dangerous - you could fall victim to an instant loss.
