After each game ends I always give a thumbs up and click on "Good Game" out of courtesy. Not a single time have I ever gotten a reply . Does not a single player here at chess.com have any courtesy at all ? Maybe I should just not click or say anything after each game, I mean what is the point ? I don't think that players get offended if they lost and I click on "Good Game" . I think it is just  being lazy and a lack of manners , so I think that I should just stop also and not deal with this issue .

That's too bad.   I hope you will continue.

Sooner or later, your courtesy will pay off.

Its because you are Canadian, nobody likes people who buy milk in plastic bags........

Just kidding, I feel the same, but I sent you a fun trophy for being a decent fellow.

I have chat turned off, so I don’t see if and when an opponent says something. It’s possible that some of your opponents do this, too

I don't know how to say this without sounding condescending but... this is a typical beginner complaint. Serious players aren't playing for the social aspect. No one says anything nice or mean after each game... no one says anything at all.

"no one says anything at all"  that may be true but after the game is finished they shake hands don't they, in a live over the board game ?

The game has ended. Most people may not see your message.

Oh, live games are completely different. At tournaments there's often analysis after the game. Even after casual OTB blitz games, I almost always analyze some position or another that happened during the game, and we both give comments on various positions.

@aussiematey was only half joking. When I play online I play 3|0 or 1|0, and after a game ends I'm immediately going into the next game. I've noticed new players are (comparatively) slow to start the next game. I suppose they like to think about the final position some more, or review the game or something... which is good. If I were trying to improve I'd review each of my games after I finish them too.

Anyway, I don't really like framing it in terms of new player vs old player but this has been my experience.

This generation is raised with a severe lack of manners, people like you change that. Thank you!

I have my chat disabled during games unless we are friends due to f bombs, perhaps that is the case on some of them and Chess.com just doesn't notify you.

It’s not possible (as I can observe) to give any trophy after the game in mobile app. It’s one of the reasons.
