I've tried both and always seem to need something more....

that's a really short post!

you may not feel full unless you type out a 500 word post.

but the diet suits and it's good that you're sticking with the program.

the "needing something more" feeling may begin to subside eventually.

I ate a huge salad three times a day for 3 days....inspite of the fact I had cheese on the salad for a little protien, I felt like I was dying. I had no strength or energy. I promptly fried a lb of ground beef and added some spices, topped with shredded cheese and bbq sauce....I felt great...

I haven't totally given up on the idea of being a vegetarian, but at that time I worked too hard and my metabolism was too high. It is difficult to get 4000-5000 calories a day from salad.

not salad, sal-AD, for all the hip young ppl, lol.

Vegetarians can usually be identified by their teeth, they have teeth like cows and horses.

I have often wondered about the hormonal effects of eating animal flesh...especially if it is under cooked....people used to more commonly eat animals that weren't vegetarians themselves....hormones are rather powerful substances over living flesh.

I ate salad every day (at lunch) for about two months.  Didn't lose a pound, but OH, SO MUCH CHEWING, for so little oomph.  Perhaps I was using the wrong dressing?

Lance Armstrong surely had a better anabolic dressing.  Smile

Eat the salads with grilled Chicken or Beef and you will physically feel better; also at the same time you will feel good about yourself as some kind of Wacko health nut.

chew veggies slowly, they won't run away, not like when you have your claws on a zebra's ass and you have to wolf it down, makes all the difference.

Especially if there are hyenas lurking.

Being fat is a lifestyle.

Eating animals doesn't make you fat; eating fruits, vegetables, and grains packed with sugar does.

That's nice.

I still have never met a fat vegetarian.

How many have you met; five or seven? They aren't like wall to wall out there.

My uncle has a friend who is vegan and is quite overweight. He originally started his vegan diet about five years ago because of his health problems (the weight, high blood pressure, and diabetes).

That being said, most of the vegetarians I know tend to be skinnier than non-vegetarians.

What is he doing?  Loading up on too much lettuce?  Why is that silly rascal still overweight?  Hmmmmm.

I don't know. What he eats looks pretty healthy to me. He doesn't exercise much at all because he has a lot of difficulty walking.

There are people that eat sensibly and those who are born porkers, no matter what side of the trough they are on.

If he has difficulty walking, maybe he lacks protein?  And should go back to eating some meat?  I don't want to sound like his doctor, but perhaps you could mention to him possibly adding chicken or lean beef to his meals?

Nah, these problems preceded and precipitated the switch to vegetarianism.

I suspect it's due to all the energy they expend hunting vegetables.

Or maybe they're worn out by hauling them around.

corrijean

I tried going vegetarian once, and it didn't work out well. I still don't eat too much meat.

I think being a veggie would have worked out better for me if I knew anything about managing the protein, but I don't.
