Opponent makes one move and...

Again I am new here to this site and system. What happens when an opponent accepts a game and makes one move and then just sits there? With the time just ticking away? What am I supposed to do? I had a game just now and 5 mins. went by without any move or chat or anything from the fellow.

So I came over  here to ask the question and apparently the game was declared won by my opponent because in order to go over here to ask my question the system shut the game off at my expense! So I have a loss from some player who just sat there.

What's the deal?

Thx, SP

You can abort or wait for their time to run out.

I saw no abort button anywhere on my screen. I looked. Where is it? BTW it was a 30 min. game...waiting for time to run out is not an option!

P.S. It appears to me that once you have made your 1st move and your opponent has made their 1st move, the ABORT button disappears. Correct? If it is still there then it moves because I watched carefully on my next game and after two moves it goes.

your game said you lost because it was abandoned.
Did you come here while still in the game, because that may have forfeited you the game if you were away long enough

Oh yes! I did not know if I could have the game window on and go over here or not. Like I've said this is all very new to me. Now I realize you cannot keep a game open AND go over to the Forums! One lives and learns. But yeah that was a forfeit. And I looked at this guy's games history and he was doing that to others too.
