Anyone else experience being on verge of victory in a game but your opponents instead of resigning decide to let there time run out rather than make a move or resign?? what's your feelings on these individuals, should they not be given penalty for miss conduct, perhaps chess.com should consider doing this, maybe deduct 5 extra points from there rating if they do so may make them think twice, what are your thoughts!!

Report them for stalling and if enough people do so then eventually these individuals will presumably get some sort of sanction for breaking the terms and conditions of the site. They do it hoping you'll get disconnected giving them the underserved win and/or because on their stats it doesn't register as a resignation or checkmate so somehow they think that looks better. It appears they just ran out of time rather than losing. Sad people but there's worse things in life to deal with.

I play daily and took their Queen but then had to watch the 3 days clock drain to 2 hours before the vacation flag was set for 30 days. That was last month. I see today that their 30 day vacation had run out and the clock reached 77 minutes before another 30 days were tacked on.

I guess the equivalent on a 10 min rapid game is waiting 200 minutes for the opponent to resign.

In my opinion, it is much more unsportsmenship to lose all pieces except king and not to resign, then sometimes draw in time.
