I have a sneaking suspicion this is some kind of en passant question, but really have no idea, since every piece on that board looks the same color to me. If it has anything to do with those two pawns/pieces in the black box, then no. Pawns capture diagonally.

can the clear pawn attack the frosted pawn in the current possition marked? my brother had said some asian kid showed him a rule book showing him that move is allowed. i have been playing chess for over a decade and never heard of that rule. can anyone help me out?
