playing 1. f4

personally, I love playing the bird's opening because their is only a few main lines, and it throws my opponent off. what do you think?

I don't know how to play against it. What would you do differently against the bird than against the dutch?

Against 1.f4, I usually transpose to the Horsefly defence with ...d5 followed by ...Nh6! It looks like a meme opening, but it's in fact quite interesting and often leads to nice games.

As you see, the Horsefly defence is very venomous, and positionally sound.
