You obviously didn't read my apology, my drunken stupidity came out with an insensitive reply. But still, don't let it sore you, everyone makes mistakes and I will defend my mistake. There is no abuse in questioning an intent. I know of many people who were abused financially because they were "easy" people, religious wise, to help out people who took advantage of them. Please don't write statements that point me out to looking like an overall unintelligent idiot who berates people.

Most of us in the developed world really have no idea what the rest of the world is like. Having spent seven years in Africa, I am painfully aware of the of the chasm in opportunities between someone living in Africa and someone living here in North America. 90% of differences in standard of living between the people on this planet is dependant on one factor: where you where born.
Maybe Blunder is some ditsy blonde looking for a freebee she does not deserve. But then perhaps she is an exceptional eager student of chess looking for a scholarship and willing to face the embarassment of begging to realize her dream.
I think us westerners have to realise that it is perfectly acceptable to beg in morroco and to some extent it is part of their culture.
Therefore, what you are saying is you rely on "faith" that the person is needy. I personally don't rely on blind faith, which is exactly what you are portraying. I am not an idiot sarkinaiki, infact I understand a great deal in culture and geography. BUT, the small section of my brain below my cortex doesn't rule out that the person could be fraudulent. Every eduacted person knows that Africans have it bad, but isn't it a little light headed to believe the thing a person says judged by a flag a person chooses as their profiled country?
The bottom line is your right, and I'm right too. Find the grey area between and then you'd understand.

You do not need a chess membership to learn chess... There are plenty of other resourses available. Even this site (without membership) contains a wealth of information and games with annotations for you to learn from. Practice on yahoo chess. Read articles and review games here. Post your games on forums for them to be analyzed. I don't recall spending anything to learn chess... I don't have a chessboard nor pieces, I've never played in a tournament. The only thing I can think of is my student fees at my university funding the chess program/club there. I don't have any FIDE other memberships. My rating is about 1600 for slow games and 1800 for blitz on yahoo (games.yahoo.com/ch).

Blunders - I am glad you have someone to sympathize with your situation and possibly to grant you a membership. I have no idea what it's like to live in Morocco -- I am poor enough as it is living in Wisconsin, and I am told as an American that we are spoiled compared to others. I am really glad that someone here was nice enough to reach out to you and offer their support (thanks to JoJo and Ian Sinclair) -- if I had the money I surely would have considered offering mine.

i agree with ninjabear, this forum is crazy. im also a student, i didnt need a premium membership to get my chess rating to where it is now-when i get a job, ill probably buy one.
so instead of being sorry for yourself for not having a chess.com membership, you should start thinking about more unfortunate people in africa who are struggling to find water.

I recommend doing some extra work such as......going to the local kebab shops and offering to do the washing up or sweep the floor for a low price....until you save up enough to get your premium chess membership, but the whole point of this post is....you want someone to pay for you.
I am proud of you for standing up with the humility to ask, i am too embarrassed to ask even though i am disabled and bankrupt but someday i will be humble enough to ask too. until then there is more information than i could possibly learn that is all available to me for free on the internet, one of the best is youtube which has thousands of free videos that teach a lot of information about different openings, i suppose if you don't speak english you may be limited to it but there are many other sources of free chess lessons online, also you can join a learners team hear on chess.com like the Black Shield Assassins and there are many chess teachers that will work with you one on one for free to help you improve.
