Why are the resignation points different each game. What is being factored in. Some days I resign i only lose like 6 points...other days i resign I lose 9 points. 

Some days I win, i only gain 6 points, other days i win I gain like 9 points. 

What is the deal with this?

It depends what rating your opponent is. The higher rated he is, the more points you get for a win, the less you lose for a loss.

ah, ok, that makes sense. But what about resignation. Why does that vary?

There is no difference in points awarded for different ways of winning or losing. Whether you resign a game or are checkmated you should lose the same amount of points.

Thank you. That makes sense. So what you are saying is that based on the ranking of the other player, the win/lose points may be higher or lower.
