Positional queen sacrifice!

'Positional queen sacrifice from my first online game. I really couldn't see any way for white to save himself after queen is taken.

I'm not so sure about it. I think 29. ...Qh5 wins easier.

Well done, I bet it was fun to play it :)

Very enjoyable indeed.

To Ardweaden: I didn't see a clear continuation after Nxf4.

That's just amazing! What a strong "army" can you get with the sac.
However, earlier in the game, I like silent 4...h6, creating maybe a little bit drawish position, but preventing unpleasant pin & 16...Qg5!

Well done though!

Yeah, but mine was faster and clearer I think.

This is not a positional sacrifice, its a tactical one, because compensation is evident and it comes soon, a positional sacrifice has a positional compensation, not a tactical one, and its not so tangible, even thou its great, congratulations!!

Here is a purely positional queen sacrifice, as early as move five.

Of course this is not my invention- it's rather established theory, and after the game I found out that it's mentioned in the recent Greet opening book.

I have analysed it a bit some 25 years ago at a cofeehouse with GM Krum Georgiev- actually he showed me the position as some "white to play and win" exercise.
