Sure he's salty, but honestly if there were enough puzzles that you couldn't memorize them then someone like Naka would be at the top, not some random IM.

Oops. 
Memorizing pattern is useful for playing chess against human. It is not in against chess engines.
Better the tie break is being determined in against chess engines.
Puzzle rush is now a game where you just memorize puzzles. You spend a lot of time on learning, and then you remember all of the puzzles.
It used to be solving puzzles, now it is just memorizing them
