I use the Chess.com mobile app on Android for puzzles, and recently I realized that using hints/moves does not switch me to unrated or even makes me lose points on puzzles.
I get credited for the full amount of points even if I use show moves on every move...
Any idea what's happening?
Based on your archive, you're not actually getting points.
What is your app version and are on Classic Mode or the Puzzle Path option?
In my stats archived I can see that I got the points.
To validate this, I tried just after reading your message. The one puzzle rated 1849, 2/2 moves, Target time 0:18 made in 0:06 has been made by using show moves for both moves.
I am using the update with the new progress system over different worlds (currently world 3 bronze I think). Not sure if that's what you refer to as Puzzle Pat or not.

I'm on 4.6.8 and just tried using the show move option and lost all the points. Not sure if that version is available yet outside of beta, but you might check. I'm not aware of any similar issue reported on the version you're on.
I restarted the app and the issue is still there. I checked that it is also the latest version. Anyone else on Android could check if they have the same "issue"?
I am using the official version from the Google store, and did not modify files. Could it be related to game settings?
It's not like it's game-breaking or anything, I am mature enough to hold myself to cheat, I find it pointless. But I doubt I am the only one being able to do that so it may be worth investigating.
Puzzle settings:
- Classic mode is disabled
- Show timer is enabled
General settings:
- Enable special themes: yes
- Current theme: Standard theme
Board settings I have enabled: Show coordinates, Highlight last move, Magnify pieces, piece notation: figurine
Analysis settings, I have enabled: quick analysis, show eval bar, show evaluation arrows, show move feedback.

I have noticed this aswell. If you do any puzzles on your mobile device you can freely ask for the hint and move without being penalised for it but if you do the same on desktop you're punished.
While I never was able to recreate, a new version of the Android app is out so updating may change what you're seeing.

Unable to help you directly. Suggest perhaps to, pass/fail entirely on your own. I am on a laptop, but when I fail a normal puzzle I can replay it, then using hints/analysis if as I wish. Also on any form of puzzle rush, clicking on the pass/green, fail/red square also reopens the puzzle. See if that works on your phone.
