When i export a selection of10000 games to html/java i get 10000 files. I want only one.

Is this possible?

rooperi

I'm not sure. A file with 10000 games would be huge, and take forever to load, I think. If you want to publish on the internet, that's probably not a great idea.

I have a scid database of more than 5 million games and want it publish on the internet.  for example a site like chessbites.com

Anyone an idea or need i a (chess) programmer or are there examples?

You can check out this java applet. It's quite old, though, I remember using it in the 90's

OK, I also remember Chess Assitant could do it, using DHTML. Maybe you can get an old copy somewhere, I had V6 and it worked in there.

Thank goodness you were able to recover by pulling up your backup database!

Eh, OK, I guess I ought to try to help. Do you have a file recovery program? I think you can get freeware programs. I haven't had to use any of them, but the one I hear about the most is Recuva. If you have a flash drive lying around, I'd put the portable version on it and run it in a USB port so that there's less of a chance of overwriting the file. If you don't have a flash drive, just run the portable version from your hard drive and cross your fingers. Smile

I don't know if you'll be able to find the deleted file, but it's the only chance you have if you don't have a backup.

Hi,

I recently downloaded SCID vs PC, and I have a couple questions to ask about it.

1. What are some large non read-only downloadable chess databases (or any that come with it that I am not aware of)?

2. Could anyone explain how the "search positions" works?

3. Are there any main uses to it besides creating databases?

I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions!

Here is a nice list of sources for games:  https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/icofy-chess-database---where
