Are these things non-chess players might say? I'm barely a chess player and I have no idea what anyone's talking about.
Stuff Non-Chess Players Say

They were both rubbish really. Very disappointed, the result was essentially random they were that bad. Qh6 check is probably an obvious move for people like Bobbie Fisher. B

We get side tracked on this thread. Eventually, someone will post a non-chesser quote.
so so so true lol. It's quirky and I love it. xD

Don't be too proud of Magnus, dragon. He only defeated Karjakin in rapid time controls, not in standard.
And remember the blitz tourney here on chess.com. Naka out played Carlsen in a 960 round. This tells me that when the element of memorizing engine analysis and book games is removed, Carlsen is weakened considerably. If one half the games were 960, I think we would have a different world champion.
The reason I mention chess 960 is because it tests the players' tactical/strategic/board vision ability without the aid of previous masters (Alekine, Capa, etc.) figuring out what openings work best. Simply put, 960 makes the players do ALL of the work themselves, not leaning on what has been done before.

True, true.... I'm inclined to like Carlsen cause he seems to have a great personality. Seems like a bubbly and happy guy (on social media and in interviews, and on camera). I was also happy that he played against another a 20-something year old (Sergey!) in the world championship. Younger people playing in the championship is more... inspiring... for the younger generation from teens to young adults.
I was referring to blitz v2 standard. Variant is the wrong word. My point is that both players are comfortable with playing rapid/blitz. They are ranked number 1 and 3 I think.
