Square Off - Chess Set

I've never had the game get stuck in the way you describe. The only times I had a problem was when I had a window open on chess.com on another device without realising 

Is it possible to stream live games on the kingdom? My board and app show on the latest release. I can replay my own games on the board where it just makes move after move to the end position. But watching live games still shows not possible. When I stream the game, the board even makes a beep sound but doesn't start moving pieces. and the board still says not supported on the screen.

I was wondering if this issue is somehow related to the iPad or phone having the app in the background, but I seem to get this problem regularly. I thought maybe it looses bluetooth connection or something else, but since the games on square off never have this issue it must be chess.com related somehow.

I thought they had changed it during the world championship a couple of years ago. Maybe not. Contact support within the app, they are very good usually although can take some time to reply

Hi everyone! Are there different model years for the Kingdom/Grand Kingdom sets? Or will I be getting the same thing regardless of whether I order from the Square Off website vs. a third party retailer? Thanks!

I understand they reworked the innards in a later revision to make them a little quieter

Watching review videos of this board and there is a very notable beep upon each move. Has this since been updated and given the option to be turned off and/or lessened?

Later releases of the firmware reduced this. 

does anybody know how you can recognise the 2019 improved set?

I just got the Grand Kingdom set and it is amazing!

I can't get any games through chess.com with the square off app.  Does anyone else have similar issues?

@Celedon: What time limit are you choosing? Try a faster time limit like 15+10. When I try to get a game with 45+45 it can take 5-10 mins sometimes until I get matched.

Still love my Grand kingdom set. Had it since it first released. Works PERFECTLY. Cannot wait for the new compact set to come in though

I’m desperate for it but the Neo is on the way...eventually. GK set or is the Neo’s new tech worth waiting for?

Until the Neo is in people’s hands, we cannot really tell if it is much better than the original GKs. 

Waiting on the Neo too but have a hard time believing it will take center stage against the GKS. I will likely gift the one i like less to a family member.

Two things I hope the Neo will have over the GKS is speed and size.  It also says it has a magnetic sensitive board, so you wont need to press the pieces when you move them, just lift and move like on a DGT
