The Chess Art Thread

Thanks qixel. I kind of got the impression that the Monterey Chess Center is no longer as well. Never played there but from what I've seen it looks like it was a nice space for a club (thought the go-ke and go-ishi were a really nice touch in the photograph included here).
If we ever lost you joaoporto it would probably mean its time to stop.

You are correct. Look closely at the position. He drew more than meets the eye.

Never saw anyone play chess in the rain, but I would on a set like this one. I would on any set if it meant a game. Just so it isn't freezing rain.

I never knew there were so many art pieces dealing with chess. I will be on and off this thread for days. But I must stop for now.

Little Kosteniuk
This photo is priceless. One can just see the wheels turning in her head.

I still cant contribute with images but i put the art of the game played, in this case a beautiful game played in 2004 by Kramnik and Leko, with notes by GM Ray Keene.
Enjoy it:
Many chess games are works of art, or very interesting to play over and over for the beauty of them. If you have any more, please contribute.

Yes, I agree. If only I could play half that well.

Hi thought I would add my bronze chess set for you all to look at. You can see more pics at www.fraserartworks.com.
Thanks for the site. I have a chess set collection and I enjoy looking and playing with different sets.

Here's one I made a few months ago. My friend gave me a set of rubber erasers carved into the shape of the various chess pieces.
