There is some not inconsiderable evidence as witnessed for example in the research posted in the book the wisdom of crowds that collectively large numbers of inexpert people often come to better and more accurate conclusions than individual experts. Equally there is the question of freedom of speech without which any community on or  off line is unlikely to thrive.

There is also a large body of evidence showing that inexperienced people learn a lot more from observing and listening to experienced people as opposed to asking the same meaningless questions not pertaining the subject at hand over and over again expecting different answers each time.

Freedom of speech ,like democracy, is utterly flawed as three wolves and one sheep voting on what they should have for dinner proves.

we don't need restrictions because what's wrong with posting a forum about the thing we are all here for: chess!
