Wow! That's a pretty amazing trap! Very difficult to see and in blitz I would venture near impossible if you haven't seen it before. Not quite enough to make me take up the French, but its tempting!

The following game is quite amusing in that my opponent is a very good friend and also a NM . We have played hundreds , maybe even thousands, of games against each other since we first met in 1986. We often like to play "races" of the first to win 5 games, draws not counting and our races are very hotly contested and sometimes for small wagers but most often just for "bragging rights". My friend, and opponent in this game, almost always opens with 1 e4 to which I usually choose the french defense which he likes to say isnt "sound" and he prefers the carokann himself. We often prepare nasty surprises for one another in our games and the following is one that I prepared ust for him but which I have also caught other players in as well...... enjoy ! Our races are always blitz of 5-0 or 3-0 games and this game kept him from falling for this in a classic game later in a tournament !
