Again your failure to discern that i am only jesting has led you once again to make a ludicrous evaluation of the text.  Did you really think that posting texts to an internet forum was having them peer reviewed, wow, you really are wired to the moon. When you realise that these cyber rockets you are firing from your room full of mirrors hidden deep in the hills is more a reflection of you than the people you seek to vilify, you may do better, who can say?

Now if you don't mind, this thread is not about you or me, its about Dr Brady's portrayal of Robert Fischer and I resent your utterly predictable attempts to make it personal.  If you have nothing to say with regard to the theme of the text then shad-up-a-yo-face because you are dragging my thread to the depths of a tabloid with your utterly banal ad hominem.  Next you will be quoting some airhead celebrity or posting the bingo results.

Well, where is does the jest begin and end?  Are you trying to apply scientific method to a biography or not?  As a writer you should take some responsibility for how your writing is interpreted.  You have been pretty consistent in your the demand for evidence.  Were you being deliberately subtle? Should we assume that obtuseness is actually only humour? Maybe add an LOL at the end for those who may not share your wit. 

I don't care to address the scientific basis of astrology because it is not science and 'Endgame' doesn't presume to be science either.  I also don't want to spoil your end product.  Of course, someone with your finely tuned sense of wit and the English language should have no trouble discerning facts from literary effect.  It would be a shame to waste your efforts on building straw men.

I can only assume you are now still joking but await your full review.

Dr. Brady fully admits to entering the realm of pure conjecture in his book. He fully expects us to believe that when he falls from fact to fiction he has a sound basis for doing so! Never the less conjecture remains what it is, conjecture, despite his assurances.  

He takes great pain to tell us that he knew Fischer personally and yet also fully acknowledges that the relationship ended and remained terminated, probably after the publication of his first book. Thus at very best his entire account is naught but third hand recollections.  

I find that when he stays true to the historical facts his writing is credible, lucid and animated, yet when he enters the realms of fiction, it becomes untenable, dream like and ethereal and dissipates like 'smoke rings of the mind'! So far his propensity for sensationalism is rather subdued but I expect it fully to explode, like a sensationalistic bomb, all over the pages, in the coming chapters.

Its not a work i am familiar with, the first quotation i think is Shakespeare, although i cannot source it despite having a copy of his complete works, I will try again if I have time later.  The second is from a Dylan song, maybe Mr. Tambourine man, I cannot say with certainty. Why they should be considered, 'turgid effusions', i cannot say.  I did watch the video clip and they appear to me to bear no resemblance, then again i understand that perhaps your level of understanding is more profound than mine.

Fischer was against Zionists Rothschild variety...not a Jew-baiter...he was against centralized wealth...which is why they shot him with a dose of mercury...thus his demise...he was in the Cold War period and was very vigilant. He moved in brilliant circles of influential folks...some not happy with his dominance of the Russians...it is all documented in freedom of information...the CIA knew about this and did the same thing to Spassky...how awful his life became after the most publicized chess ever...Kasparov was smarter though, he was brilliant with diplomacy...so he was not dosed...research this for yourself...I spent a few hours on this and was shocked at how the championship was politically used as a pawn to gather national pride...further polarizing our countries. Shocking to say the least.

I am reading it at the moment.  My initial concern was that Brady portrays in the title of his book that Fischer descended to 'the edge of madness', that he was and became seriously mentally ill.  Various hypothesis were proffered as hordes of Brady apologists came out on Bradys side, saying that it was merely a blurb, he doesn't actually think that Fischers was mentally ill, its a simple pejorative, its common practice for publishers to insert a sensationalistic titles etc etc etc all of course absolute nonsense.  I am reading the book to evaluate what kind of empirical evidence Brady offers to substantiate and corroborate his claim that Fischer, 'descended to the edge of madness'.  So far I have found nothing, but conjecture.

I don't find Fischers rantings distasteful at all. Everyone has their own perspective and are free moral agents, are they not?  I am interested in understanding why he rants not on passing moral judgement on those rants.

I think there may be something to what you say. Fischer had no objection to meeting with and socialising with individuals who were Jewish.  Roman Dzindzichashvili for example has an excellent account of when they met, he describes Fischers memory as being so exceptional that it was almost unbelievable.

Fischer was uninterested in making money to the extent that he would nor could not be exploited by commercial interests (contrast Kasporov who would give his name to ketchup if he thought it sold) and thus he deeply resented people trying to make money from his name, like Chester Fox during the world championship match in 1972.  Fischer simply cut them off which they naturally resented.

Alot of you people seem to have no idea what "Real" jews are about. If your not jewish your a gentile do you all not know that? I worked at a hotel and had to deal with them all the time. No not all of them are bad just most. Most never tip, most wont look at you when they talk to you, then to top it off they say they cant use money or even door knobs on certin days so they need a gentile to open the door. People say all this "bobby was a jew hater" but in fact they dont want you except to open the door, i can understand if some people live in some hick town and have never acctuallly met a real jew and think is like black folk but black people dont have a religious philosophy that considers outsiders as gentiles. when i say "real" jew i mean religiously practicing orthodox not some random guy who was born of a jewish mother.

I get the impression that Judaism is very exclusive.  I once met a lady near where i live, her husband was a surgeon and Jewish. She told me that she studied to become a Jewess for about five years. Her motivation was and I use her actual words 'so that her Jewish relatives did not spit on the side walk when she walked past', her being a gentile and all.  Perhaps it was this exclusiveness, this condescension towards gentiles that Fischer really despised?
