Drinking alcohol doesn't help...
Ur definitely gonna play worse while feeling like ur playing well. But it's an illusion, u'll see after u analyze the game later while ur sober. Not just the game analysis but if u play tournaments like I used to u can clearly see that the results will be different on average when u compare all games while drinking with all games not drinking. Just do the math.
Preachers quotes the Bible saying " 'Drinking is a Virtue, but Drunk is a Sin,' so know your own limits."
I've cured many a tilt with a glass of whiskey. I can attest, however, that a third glass always has a detrimental affect on the quality of my play.
This game, played OTB in the second round of a tournament, was played after I went wine tasting at lunch, consuming seven ounces of seven different wines. I was White.
I made the same deal and promised my friend I'd stop drinking years ago. I now owe him my house.
😂
Guys, gals and however you may self identify, drinking while playing chess doesn't help your elo. You may think you're gonna tear the field up... you're wrong... can I get many seconds' on this!?
But I identify as sober and find this so offensive I need another drink.
Then how come Alekhine and Tal were so good?
This might explain
