And you wonder why the site doesn't do mandatory rematches?

lol

I'm telling you: $10 per game rematch fee. Put up or stop whining. I make a lot more than that at my job. I owe you nothing. NOTHING!

Kennison
I’m all for rematches, but sometimes I simply can’t. I like to play a blitz game on break at work and if the game takes my whole break then I can’t rematch due to time. If I could be on my phone all day and get paid I would rematch till my fingers bled but I can’t. So if anyone reading this has been denied a rematch in blitz, challenge me in daily chess so time is not a factor.

This is thinking like an economist.

He is totally angry because I do remember him losing on time on his like, 57th game of blitz and then he raged so bad.

If I may be allowed to make an observation. I find it interesting that if I demolish a player (3 minute games) then there is never a re-match request. They simply do not want to learn from their mistakes.

If, on the other hand I am playing badly and am losing there can be as many as three re-match requests after each of my losses. I always oblige, just to be nice and polite.

No daily puzzle today, I wonder how the FPFs (First Page Fanatics) have managed.

But let us get real, no player is OBLIGED to a re-match.

I'm not mad about losing ... I just think it's professional to grant a rematch.

Is this guy an expert on professional ethics? Let us not confuse sport and profession.

You sound like the guy who wants a rematch, loses again and then wants best of 5 and then best of 9. When you lose the best of nine you then want a boxing match. But, if at any stage you do win a game, even if it only makes it 25 - 1,  you'll type something like 'DESTROYED!'  into the chat box andthen leave as if you're somehow victorious. How come people like you never start off by asking for a best of 3? It's only when you lose that more games suddenly become important. Maybe the other person has to leave or just didn't enjoy playing you? Maybe they sensed you was a poor loser when you wouldn't resign even when you only had your king left and 4 queens attacking it. Grow up and start another game with another opponent. What is the difference in just playing another opponent if you want to carry on playing? That gets to the heart of it:  you want a rematch not because you want to play  more chess, but because you're hellbent on revenge. That's very unhealthy. It's also  the sign of a very poor and weak character, and one who will almost certainly not have many friends. X

Whining

It's so unfair. Flagging and no-rematchers are the worst. It's so unfair. I'm entitled to a win or at least a draw. Rematches should be mandatory.

We should keep whining because whining solves all problems.

Just play 10 sec + 1, problem solved

I can give you a list of reasons why people don't rematch and none of them have anything to do with courage. 1. The person has to get back to work. 2. The person has a much higher rating and doesn't wish to risk the point drop (that is the greatest complaint by the opposition), regardless of whether or not the prior game was a win or a loss. This decision has nothing to do with courage. It falls squarely in the arena of intelligence. This reason can be coupled with all the rest, or it stands on its own merits.4. The person was drinking and decided not to watch the rating go into a freefall. 5 The person has a much lower rating and got lucky, but you don't see the higher rated players complain about them... funny how that works. 6. The person suspects his opponent is using a program or high rated friend to help.

Or you want to play different people. Or not the same openings over and over

HorribleTomato

I'm a lonely tomato. Currently in one game with a potato. He makes moves way to slowly. His eyes always dart around, unfocused. So, when I'm done this game with him, THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH.

There is no greater pleasure than squeaking by with a lucky close victory over a clearly superior opponent and then refusing to give him or her the pleasure of teaching you the lesson you so richly deserve.

shockwaveofdoom

no need to be so harsh guys!

Whining

Whining has the power to change everything in your life.

There is nothing better than a daily dose of good whine.
