i made a touch move blunder against zachary the isaac snow in a 2 hour five second delay over the board game, and resigned.
It was the only game I lost
Now I can look forward to playing a 1700.
also update i know nobody cares but I wrote this at the end of that round, turns out in the next round i got to play a floor 2000 so that was easy points
...
So I reached my hand and grabbed his knight, and as I was about to hit the clock, I noticed that I in my hand was a black knight. Huh?

That makes it sound like you were moving with one hand and hitting the clock with the other instead of using the same hand for both functions.

floor 2000?
To combat against sandbaggers the US federation has rating floors equal to your highest rating minus 200 and then changing the last two digits to zeros (helps fight against people tanking their rating so they can win big in a lower-rated section). A floor 2000 is somebody who achieved a 2200-2299 rating at some point and then slipped back. Generally somebody on their floor is actually weaker than that but they cannot go any lower (often 100 to 300 points weaker). One time I had a 1900 floor and a 2000 rating and thus looked like a floor 2000 instead of a solid 2000, which surprised a few opponents (rating changes are tournament by tournament, not game by game, and the official list is only updated monthly).

In analog clocks, I use the piece in my hand to hit the clock.

A common practice, but you wouldn't be hitting the clock with the piece that was supposed to be left on the board.
I am guessing you were using a common capture method of grabbing the capturing piece in your thumb and forefinger and picking up the captured piece with your other three fingers and palm (when I've been showing things to kids I've sometimes had them look in surprise and the sleight of hand that almost seems like magically replacing the pieces). Then (at the point you were getting ready to drop your capturing piece and move to the clock with the captured) you noticed the piece you were about to drop on the board was the black knight.
