I have played in 200 tournaments from 1969 to 2006, winning or tieing for 1st in 60 events.
I had only one tournament in my life. Last year there was a tournament between university departments in my university. Participants were competing on 3 boards. The first board was for players who have official rating
(masters, or what do we call them), the second board was for amateurs and the third - for girls. I played on the second board and placed 2 among 8 or 10 opponents, I don't remember exactly.

Going to play in a tournament in 2 weeks or so. As I have no official rating I`ll be automaticly in the U1400 category (I have no idea however how that rating compares to FIDE or the american one), but anyways, it`s cool since the first prize for that category is 450$...
I played in a couple of national tournaments in Bahrain when I was younger... i made it to the top 15 at the national under-18 level
