He wasn't around for 6 years. He told me he made his account, then played at a different site for years, then came back to chess.com recently. The account was old, but he wasn't.

OK - now the story (of why the account was closed) starts to make sense. There's a limit how far one can go berserk and still be tolerated - pretty much in any society.
Restoring his posts that aren't related to this last scandal does seem reasonable, though.
He was here for 6 yrs and DIDN'T post??
Delete that before 2Q see's it.

one of my points. some here are stating he was a longtime member. while the join date may show it, it doesn't make it so.
i have seen many of your posts, chin man, and i have thought you are quicker on the draw than many others.

Muting was the action that the moderators took: I am not privy to what led the Support team to disabling the account, but if he was directing the same sort of invective towards them as he was posting in the forum, then I'm not surprised.
I have deleted those posts of his that triggered this and made the rest of his content visible again.

yep. while i have perused this cry-fest about urk, i've been here as long as he was, he rarely, if ever, posted his first six years. it had me wondering if it was a second account.
tuna is on the money about normal members, and too many have left and been replaced with kids.
there were very few topics about a lot of good contributors that have left. in 2017, we have threads about cnj being muted for idiocy and this one of some members begging staff to bring back one that violated tos.
full disclosure. i was a fan of many of urk's topics and comments. i did not see what he posted that resulted in the ban, but, david (staff) has been reasonable throughout the years i've read his posts and responses to members.
getting back to the quoted post about "normal" members. some topics wouldn't get much of a look if they were about goldendog, snakey, thegrobe, and many others that have left. how's that for a view of the site as a whole?
