Hello friends of Chess.com. I know most of you play Chess (I say most because some of us here do not play chess lol). What is the longest you have ever played chess continuously? 30, 60, 180, 360, or more minutes? It must have taken a toll on you and your rating.

I will be playing chess 24 hours straight on Saturday next weekend. I will also be streaming all 24 hours. There are 24 hour arena's on Saturday and I plan on playing the full tournament start to finish on November 17, 2018.

I will be streaming the full 24 hour tournament on my Twitch stream: https://www.twitch.tv/superchessmachine

I also stream regularly every day or so around 4-6 Eastern Time. I would be very pleased if you guys would watch me suffer on my stream. I will sleep before the tournament and wake up 30 minutes before the tournament starts and prepare my stream.

Please do watch me play chess regularly too at my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/superchessmachine

Regards,

superchessmachine

150 minutes or so

I was playing in 2-3 Ultrabullet arenas elsewhere about 10 months ago

I once played 9 hours continuously.

I doubt many have done similar, because I mean continuously. No eating, no standing, no stopping (all blitz and bullet) no bathroom, etc. 9 hours.

It was awful. I don't recommend it lol.

Anyway, 24 hours sounds interesting. I'm sure you'll take a few small breaks to eat and such grin.png

I wonder how many games you'll play?

IIRC in my 9 hours I played a little over 100. Something like 115.

I played about

200 games in those 150-180 minutes. (I actually won the first arena that I played in)

Hmmm. I may take 2 or 3 30 minute breaks for eating and regaining my humanity.

Thank you! Remember 11/17/2018!

I cannot wait even though I am not sure if I want to do it lol.

Ok, but in ultra bullet you're just premoving without even looking at the opponent's moves. Pretty silly stuff IMO.

I'm not going to watch for 24 hours, but I'll pop in and check to see if you're still awake enough to talk lol happy.png

Ben Finegold style:

"Still Theory" As Ben would say.

I'd have to set something up to keep me from getting bored.

Like various music, TV, that sort of thing.

Streaming will give you a chat to interact with, that can help.

Various music can be arranged. Watching "Linus Tech Tips" or "Unbox Therapy" would be too attention grabbing for me and too loud. You have to think my parents will be sleeping through this.

I may get some raw sugar to "boost" energy levels. lol I don't do caffeine yet.

It's really addicting (Placed 1st in Arena #1, didn't place in #2, got 3rd in #3)

I just rage-quit after I lose 2 or 3 games lol. I blame my mouse, but that's just me.

Raw sugar will spike insulin levels as your body tries to remove it, but since the body overreacts you end up with an energy crash not a boost.

Eat something like a tuna sandwich on whole wheat bread and fruit.

Whole wheat is digested slower than white bread so no sugar spike, and low fat protein for the same reasons. Fruit has sugar that wont make you tired.

As for watching stuff, I meant maybe a series you've already seen. Something you wouldn't really pay attention to, but now and then you could look over and know what's going on and remember that episode and it's like a quick break.
