We need a fair play rule about using internet connection to win.

I was up plus 7 points with over a second more time, my opponent moved instantly, so did I because I could see what he was doing, but his .7 seconds was worth more then my 1.8 seconds and I lost by apparently.2 seconds while being plus 7 points, there should be a rule if you win this way its 1 point, if you abuse this you should be banned in my opinion. This ruins the entire point of chess and fair play.

No, chess is about checkmate and time management, not about “being up 7 points” aka capturing all prices
Avatar of no_one_is_here110813
So that’s your problem
Avatar of Gmdonovan81

ok, so you obviously didn't read, I had almost two seconds more and up 7 points we both instantly moved we moved three moves each, but his only took .5 seconds off while mine took 1.7 seconds this isn't winning, its dirty as f, and chess deserves better in my opinion.

Mmmm don’t blame him or chess.com. Blame your wifi. Also on mobile it takes longer than it does on PC.

Thats fair, but its dirty chess, not skill in my opinion.

I get it, but it’s not dirty. The clock is part of the game. Grandmasters even lose because of the clock all the time in different bullet/blitz tournaments.

#10 it’s not dirty, it’s a strategy

Yes, time is strategy, but when you use .5 seconds to time out your opponent that up 2 seconds and 7 points its very dirty and im frankly not sure how its possible as I moved in sync with him and his .5 was worth more then my 1.5 and he still had .2 according to clock, so some how moved 3 moves in .5 seconds to win...

The server keeps the official clocks. What's on the client gets updated, based on lag and lag compensation. So it's easily possible you were experiencing higher lag, so what looked like more time wasn't sufficient.

Of course he can make 3 moves in.5 seconds. It’s called premoves. It means pre-moving your next move before your opponent moves. One of them takes 0.1 seconds. However, if the premove turns out to be illegal, it will be cancelled and in your case, your opponent would have flagged. Your opponent got lucky and all 3 of the premoves were still legal after your moves.

You can enable premoves in settings.
