Weird Draw Offers

I had a mouse release problem in the middle of a game several years ago. The mouse dropped the rook on the wrong space and it double clicked. Now the Rook was on a hanging position. I immediatelly told the opponent of the mouse error and the Opponent ask me, "What do you want me to do? Give you a draw?"

"I don't know, Maybe put the piece back and replayed it." I said.

He said after a little while, "I think I found a way. I will move my knight some where, you move the Rook back to the spot where it was, Then I will move my knight back where it just was. Now the game is in the position before the mouse blunder. Now you must move the Rook to the proper place where you were going with it. We can resume the games again. How does that sound to you?"

"I said that is a wonderful solution and it is quite sporting of you."

We went through the routine and I thanked him for the opportunity he gave me. I lost the game though and not because of that rook move. Funny I can almost view the game position in my head.

I did find out later that Chess.com support can move a piece back to where the error happen only when both of the players agree on the move to support. That does take a while to accomplish. If it is the weekend it would be two more days.

My new Acer laptop computer with the fancy built in mouse has release and double click proble. It seem to get stuck down and it is too sensitive. Sometime the submit button is pressed when I am just feeling for the right move.

A couple of days ago a player asked for a draw so much even though I was winning. I felt sorry that he was clearly desprate and probibly didnt want to be beaten by me.  I waited until it was mate on the move and then resigned.  He thanked me and went on his way. I felt good and giggled to myself. I wondered what he was thinking about but was happy that I showed him it is not that important to gain points. I am no longer playing for the points but just enjoying the games.

In the 5 yars I have been on chess.com I have realised the games I play are about winning not collecting points.

I love to win x
