Were the '60's in the '60's ?

This thread has got me thinking.Were the 70's in the 70's.I believe the 70's started in 1973 and ended in 1984.What do others think?

My friends and I can't remember the 60s and don't want to remember the 70s.

I was surfing Youtube and stummbled across the worst video from the 70's check out by typing: Apache-an old rock music

The sixties to me were really in two parts:  60's A from 1955-65; 60's B from 1965-75.  I think it all started to take a turn late 1963 with the assassination of JFK. Then MLK in spring 1968 and Bobby Kennedy later that year. As if we needed more, the Manson family in '69 made for a decade that started out with lots of promise, but finished as a horrible era we were glad to see end...

I agree that the economy improved around 1984.  There were down economic years from 1966 to then.  That is the span of Generation X.

                   Hey;  We've got in 2014 wars in Africa, Russia, Syria, Iran,Egypt, Noth Korea. We've got a plane in the Indian Ocean. A couple of natural disasters,(earthquake, mud-slide, fires). We've got the Supreme Court looking at religious healthcare and equal pay for females. We've got a massive drug addiction problem, homeless people, and un-employment. General Motors is re-calling products, and a hospital in North Adams MA is closing. The Catholic church has a few skeletens in their closet, and terrorism pops up every once in a while. We've been at war for 13 yrs in Irac and Afganistan. The military suicide rate is higher than the casualties of war. DOD is downsizing 100,000 in the Army alone. So, Here's my question;  WHO SAID THE 60'S are DONE????

Everybody is trying to relive the 60s.  The left acts like the 60s are still going and the right is trying to undo what happened.

I want to produce a movie about musical band members coming back as zombies of the 1960's.  Imagine Mama Cass chasing innocent campers through Woodstock.  This could happen!
