I came here mostly to ask questions on the forums and to read about openings. I love the ability to click through game moves represented in PGN and FEN format, both of which were new to me before I came here but were easy to learn. I'm also learning some good things I didn't know about (that weird drawing rule about time expiration, that the Sicilian Dragon is unsound, that a queen in the center in the opening isn't necessarily bad, good chess books to check out, good YouTube authors, that an early ...Nc6 in the French is sometimes OK, etc.). Making friends is nice, too, though I haven't had time yet to play chess with any of them. I like the occasional job opportunities mentioned since I'd love to have a job related to chess. Plenty of puzzles to keep in practice with those. Dang, I guess I'm just thankful all over!
