I'll start with mine: Agent Kuyan is a character from one of my favorite movies "The Usual Suspects" played by Chazz Palminteri. Kuja (pronounced like "kuya") means a -bitch- in Croatian, so "kuyan" stands for something like a -son of the bitch-. I found that an interesting word play...

Under another nickname I scored some wins against KaiserSoze at another chess site: ICC. The Usual Suspects is one of the all time best crime dramas.

Ziryab is the nickname of Abul-Hasan Alí Ibn Nafí. He introduced chess to Europe (allegedly). The full history of chess coming into Europe is buried in the absence of reliable archival sources, but it certainly entered from the Arab world, and almost certainly through three routes: Spain, Italy, and the Caucases into Russia. Spain was probably earliest, and chess certainly became an integral part of the culture there. Ziryab is a central figure in its ninth century growth in Cordoba.

I am a historian and that's why I chose this name.

Mullet_Overlord666

tongue-in-cheek

DeepGreene

Like Deep Blue, but with my last name - it's also now the name (without the extra 'e') of a popular iPhone chess app.  (I've contacted my lawyer about this username infringement, but for some reason he's not answering my emails, and every time I phone his mobile he's just about to drive into a tunnel.  What are the odds?...)

Ray_Brooks

Ray_Brooks is the latest identity I have assumed.
