The NUMBER 1 most important product for any serious chessplayer to buy is ChessBase. Nothing comes close to second place.

It is spam. He posted the list twice and it was quoted in full several times.

most important one: chessboard and pieces

Quoted for truth.

Not that books or other stuff are useless, but they are not as useful as regular practice.

The investment you do is only one part of to be better but another part is the implementation. Without it, everything you invest before became useless. This products is created for purposes to help chess players. I don't think is waste of money if you buy.

The single most useful purchase I've ever made was How to Reassess your chess 3rd edition by Jeremy Silman.  But chess.com is a good site.. and there's a lot of other good books too.

You are right. I can't find it either. But what you can get for free (if you are interested) are some free lessons. Go to the home page and click on the top of the right side of the page where it says "Download Your Free Lesson". I received many emails by the site and saved all those lessons in my laptop.

Best product? A premium membership to chess.com

I only have some gripes about the TT, but for only $8 per month the whole site is still a fantastic offer. I'm using only a fraction of all the available material due to lack of time, basically.

As a basic member I can say I have no gripes about this site. It is a complete chess place, with games, lessons, forums etc.
