What is the longest correspondence game you've heard of?

Some people that play postal chess just for fun with friends can set all kinds of long time controls.

Games could take years or decades.  Have you ever been in one like that?  Or have heard about one?

I've been in a postal chess game for four years now, and we are only on move twelve.

             I'm being serious. I actually read about a postal game that started in the early 1900's. And finished 43 yrs later.  They would send 1 move, every Christmas.

A break for football yes, but how many pocket chess sets were in the trenches ?
