I think pawn.
There are 16 of them on the board when you first start.
You usually move them in the opening and they can be moved to promote.

Pawns are also very important to have a good structure.
You don't want to have stacked pawns, or just have a bad pawn structure

This is an interesting question.
My initial reaction is pawns, since there are 8 and u usually move at least 4-5 of them in almost every match, and all of them in almost every end game.
But minor pieces get moved around a lot as well, like the bishop and knight, especially in the mid game.
you guys forget that pawns aren't pieces. i would say knight though

but i also think the king is up there too
yeah mostly in the endgame
