Whats the more devastasting finishing move: Alekhine's Gun or a Windmill?

How often is Alekhine's Gun a finishing move?!  Or even a windmill, come to that, if your opponent doesn't resign.  Usually you just have fun taking lots of pieces.

I've seen both as finishers (although both are rare as finishes), but generally speaking "windmill" is far stronger in my opinion. Alekhines's gun has the psychology of simply piling on and windmill tactics have the psychology of the opponent taking material while you are helpless (due to attending the check). Both cases are really rare, especially as finishing motifs go.

Doing a von Bardeleben can mean two different things.

It's been rare, but I've used the Windmill to clear a rank and a file of enemy pieces and then to line up against the strongest enemy piece available on the last check.  Your opponent can't stop a true Windmill.

Alekhine's gun requires a Queen lined up behind two Rooks and your opponent CAN stop it in many instances of it.

So I'd say the Windmill is more devastating.  Of course, there are a lot of tactics like a lawnmower, escalator, or railroad mate that are fun to play but rare as well.
