There are many different answers for many people and I think it's very interesting that even 2000+ rated player have different opinion.
What's the thought process of a 2000+

I'm not has high rated as you, but I would play bf5 then look to bring the bishop back to f8 so it's not blocking the d file and the isolated pawn. The bishop on f8 could be a major assent when advancing your a-b-c pawns.
