Besides you must need a Systematic thinking process.
When you will be a Master Player

Playing chess games is a major way of learning and gaining skills. I enjoyed engaging in a systematic thinking process at the chess board. I dont give much thought to the idea "When you will be a master player"

Ongoing,
Without too much study and practice , no one will be a stone like strong player. Being master player is far far way of the journey.

A young man sent a letter to Mozart asking how he would write a song. Mozart replied: "you are not prepared". The young man then replies: "But I'm already 16 and you've written your first song with 9, I think I'm ready." Mozart then replies, "But I did not ask anyone how to do it."
This story (invented or not), shows the difference between those who improve and those who do not improve. GM krikor (a brazilian grandmaster) sayd:
"talent is the ability to work"
I believe that studying a book of openings is much less laborious than analyzing your games yourself and investigating your mistakes. Books are like shortcuts. Shortcuts work is true, but as incredible as the quadratic formula is, you will not exactly be a mathematician by knowing it: it's just an exercise in memory without any deep thought behind. However, when you study in depth the demonstration of the quadratic formula then you will begin to become a mathematician. And chess is no different.
It has recently occurred to me if teaching chess using academic educational resources would work. My conclusion so far is that it would not work very well because the academy tends to create robots and those who did not become robots is because they went one step further (i.e. they studied \ investigated more than was taught).
more we learn, more we gain skill
