I use a wireless mouse and keep a wired mouse connected in another USB port as a backup.

Never use battery peripherals while playing a game that matters to you.  I don't have anything that isn't wired.

If you are not used to play on a touchscreen it probably ends badly.

I never used my wireless mouse for chess. Despite the problems with defect cables all the time I prefer a very small notebook mouse.

You’d have to make a hole big enough in your head through your scull to have the usb direct access to your brain. Lots of tissue to remove, lots of blood to sop up, lots of bone to saw through. I suggest a stick to bite down on.

If it was a FaceTimed online chess game:

”bro…don’t, it’s just a game. Put the microwave down….”

this just happened to me, I had a winning position and made a blunder the immediate move after my mouse's battery ran out and lost the game. I'm uncontrollably raging rn happy.png

I recently went back to "The good ole days" and hard wired the pc, got a new keyboard and mouse both hard wired. (I needed the KB and mouse anyways). I also hard wired the smart TV.

I have to say, wireless is good, but hard wired is the doggies...... I recommend hard wired.
