online
Which category you enjoy playing most? bullet, blitz, standard, online, or 960?

Classic Online CC is the only viable option. I can create tournaments and select trustworthy participants.
Live chess is buggy - server disconnects and after reconnecting manipulates with clock at random like crazy causing undeserved wins and loses on time.
Also I don't understand the promotion of the 960 over all other chess variants.

15 min. As a total noob, i feel blitz and bullet doesn`t improve my game (still play them altough i shouldn`t)

I like live standard and dont like blitz at all because i think it doesnt help you improve its only for fun.

I agree with you but i like play blitz too.
Online chess is most interesting for those, who is more interested in chess itself, then in the result of the game :)
i have avoided playing blitz for the year or so i've been playing chess, but the past few days i have been playing it more than anything else. i am so, so bad at it. i lost a game where i was two rooks up earlier, on time. i've been losing on time a lot, i just can't think fast enough.
it's definitely fun playing blitz, but i much, much prefere the slower time controls. even 15 minute games on this site feel very fast for me, i like time to calculate and weigh up my options.

I don't really understand what you people see in online chess. Standard resembles the most OTB chess. You won't get 3 days to make your move OTB.
Please,tell me what is OTB? I often see this abbreviation here.
Playing against strong chess engine, can be also very interesting and usefull for chess understanding. Pity, here is impossible to play online vs Computer Impossible :)

OTB = over the board
Playing against humans improves your ability not cold mechanic engines that never go wrong. I remember even Carlsen saying that he dislikes playing against engines.
Thank you for your explanation about OTB. I played sometimes against Fritz and was impressed by its positional understanding. Not every man has opportunity to play against a real chess master. I remember that one my acquaintance became strong chess player because he plays regularly against his neighbour - a chess master.
To tell the truth i like most of all live standard
