I use touch on an iPhone. A bigger touchscreen is probably the best, though.
Mouse
Mouse. By far. And a good gaming mouse. A cheap standard one wont even compare to a logitech gaming mouse, for example.

Mouse unless you have shaky hands. If you have shaky hands, use touchscreen.

nah for chess unless ur andrew tang you don't need a gaming mouse
i made so many mistakes touch screen at my cell. that contributes to my low rate.

I think the right mouse is an advantage at a minimum.
I experimented playing on my iphone and laptop/touch pad; I will only use the laptop for 5/5 minimum games because I like the big screen.
I find with 2/1 and 3/3, the iphone is satisfactory but very convenient.
