It isn't. There are people who have played 100,000 games here and who have never bought a premium membership.

I thought the Arena Kings broadcast which just finished with Aman was very entertaining. I'm pretty sure everyone could watch it.

There's lot here for you even if you don't buy a premium membership.

I made it to 2351 without ever paying a penny.

There's nothing stopping you from playing on multiple different sites. That's what I do.

Your notion of pay to win is incorrect. In gaming, pay to win means that those paying a fee are given material benefits that help them *in-game* to defeat opponents. Some games, for instance, allow you to buy guns with real-world money that gives you an advantage over others. You can’t, for instance, buy an extra queen.

People who can afford training are at an advantage in all walks of life. Welcome to real life.

Chess(.com) isn't pay to win

Moonwarrior_1

LetsPlay226

no it's not true, just play good and you can beat premium players whatsoever, just blame yourself when you lose

PleasantEscalator

Oh ! ......you naughty boy ! you’ve mentioned that dreaded word ! 🙀

@samir - that may be the case, but that doesn’t mean it’s pay to win. Indeed, nothing is stopping you from using resources found elsewhere and playing your games here. Unlike Fortnite or Call of Duty, chess is chess. You can learn and play it anywhere you’d like.

It did cost time and effort. Jobs trade that for money so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seriously, what is wrong with you. Others have already mentioned it, but there is zero 'pay to win' in chess. You are wrong. Period.

The question remains why you feel the need to promote a competing website?  One that is already known by all active chess players (many people use both even, I think). You pay for services offered, not to win. I find really difficult to imagine someone not seeing the value of what this website is offering.

Modern chess is over 100 years old. There are thousands of books, DVDs and internet videos on the subject.  Many of the books are free at the library. Chess is about adapting and much of those resources won't help you do that because most games are different.  However you can play the same opening over and over again and see which ideas work or fail.

The only unfair thing imo is the lessons. One per week is almost useless and I am better off creating my own openings and tatics

The real thing about is that they added this completely garbage thing 'Game Review'. Before in the analysis it gives you advice on a move like for example, Nc6 is best because it develops a peice. but now that's locked behind a one-per-day game review thing and one lesson per week and also puzzles (I think) It's not really P2w tho, it's like you get to play the fair game, but if u pay u improve faster.

I get paid all the time
