Chess.com lost its appeal, Who judges an unfair play act? Do they Haqve all the facts? Are they rules worse then religious made laws? Bacically I'm not becoming a premium member becauses of the self made chess gods. Why can't I just play the game? isn't it all it is?

I'm guessing that your PhD isn't in English grammar.

Chess isn't about fun.  Its purely about inflicting and heaping as much emotional pain and trauma upon your opponent as possible.

I think someone must have gotten spanked by the mods or fell afoul of the language filter. Smile

The website itself has never had any appeal.  The forums are full of arrogant know-it-all's, trolls, angry pre-teens and just plain idiots.  The chess.com staff basically exerts power over its members in every way possible just so they can stroke their e-peen.  The constant ads and daily emails to try to get you to become premium are extremely annoying.  The only reason to even be premium is to get acsess to all your old games, the "analysis" engine is a total joke, the tactics trainer on chesstempo is about 1000X better (and free) and the only good thing about chess mentor is Jeremy Siliman's lessons.

This list could go on for a long time... mostly i'm just here to play chess though.

I find these trolls good sometime, though not too much.

I wish I could have everything free in the world. I don't think you like chess very much.

Try to improve your rating, and talk some more.

Chess.com: Just like a "remote control device" for playing chess and socializing with other chess players.

Chess.com does not rule chess. It can't take the fun out of chess.

Apologies for the echo... but e-peen?   And "...stroking their e-peen" ?! There's something creepy -almost genitally creepy- about that one.
Please enlighten us Atlec !

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out.

From what I've seen, the chesstmpo tactics trainer is suffering badly of the "sacrifice your queen" disease.

The tactics trainer here puts now and then "tactics" consisting of a hanging piece, a mere simplification, a stalemate, etc. Some people see that as an inconvenient, but actually it's an advantage.

DrSpudnik

"e-peen" you say...? Go on.
