The fighting spirit is great, but if he loses then I bet Caruana is gonna be p*ssed heh.
Richard is putting up a great defense but the engine on chess24 is saying Nepo is winning after move 30.

My god the man is on fire! It appears Fabi is better against Teimour at the moment as well although his position isn't winning yet
If Nepo wins this game I'll be convinced he's the best attacker right now. He beat Ding with a blistering attack in round 1. He beat Firouzja the same way in round 4. Same against Duda. Now this.....

He's a beast in attacking positions! Magnus even said that he's the most accurate player alive with the Queen....
When he played 14.... Bh3 he must've calculated ALL the possibilities through move 24. Qxf8 Bxf8. In particular 22.... Qd7 because he played it in 25 seconds and it was the ONLY move that didn't lose.
Maybe it's prep.

If that was prep, that's insane! All I know is that he's been showing very good form so far!
It's move 34 and he still hasn't put that bishop to work.

I'm watching it on chess24 and they have Judit Polgar and Jan Gustafsson commenting on the games. Judit just said she thinks about 50% of this game was home prep and Jan agreed.
Richard just resigned after move 43. Nepo has scored 5.5 out of 7 for the first half. If he only scores 50% in the 2nd half he'll have 9 points. That's enough to win. I looked at the last 5 candidates and the winning score was 8.5 in 4 of them, it was 9 in the other one.
Nepo is at +4 now.
Incredible: 4 wins and 3 draws in the first lap.

It's a great way to start the 1st half of the tournament! Fabi is really in a must win situation right now if he wants to keep up with Ian....

His results in these two Candidates have been amazing... it's too bad he played the WC so poorly.
If Nepo gets the chance to play another wc against The Magster I think he'll do much better. I think he'll lose again but do better.
That's IF it happens.
Nepo has gained a whopping 20.7 rating points in just 7 games.

The only reason I don't want to see Ian win is because I feel like out of all the players, he's the most likely for Magnus to decline to play against. At least if Fabi wins there's a good chance Magnus plays because he still needs to prove he can beat him in a classical match
The Rapport vs Nepo game looks like it's got all kinds of crazy going on. Rapport can take a draw or else jump into even more crazy and risk losing.
