If you want to play chess, then play chess and stop posting threads like this (this isn't the first)...if instead you are just seeking attention, then keep your avatar and your "Jesus is my savior" profile, keep posting threads like this, and just wait for the inevitable reveal of your true gender and age and/or your banning, whichever comes first...

I think you meant to say "you can't tell people what they should or shouldn't be doing" (yes, I can, by the way...and I just have).  Gender is completely immaterial in this context.  I don't give a flying f--- what age or gender this alleged chess player is, and neither should you.  Crusade somewhere else.

This is why trolls posing as young women are so successful.  It's a crutch, though.  Baiting immature and sexually-repressed men is like shooting fish in a barrel; a sign of a bottom-feeding troll.

The most obvious signs that this is a blatant trolling attempt (besides the previous threads) is that a women who had actually gone through this would have already changed her avatar if she was tired of unwanted attention and truly just wanted to play chess unmolested.  Instead though, we have another sign...13 full pages of drooling male "friends" just like you.  This is also not the behavior of someone who is actually receiving unwanted attention...

Ergo, the attention is being sought after.

I suggest you could use either of these as an avatar..

The criminal law is diferent depend on countries or States (in federal countries). In my country the age was U13 and in recent modification is U16. In 16-U18 is criminal if they are tricks or abuse of confidence. 

In any case a real man (o real woman) with a U-18 (in my opinion) is etichally bad, but etichally bad and criminal are diferents things. However a young of 18,5 years or 19 years with a young of 17 or 17,5 years it is debatable. 

I think its a shame that people do that- but then...

I agree with others that if you really wanted to keep your gender out of it; you could have signed in with a vague avatar and a odd name.  nobody would really suspect.

next disable chat. and voila.  you are ONLY here to play chess!  

on the other hand, ignore anything you don't like- and block anybody that goes too far  and you'll be like several other women- and some that are quite vocal on the chess.com forum.

Either way- you've probably asked the easiest more obvious question.  why do people flirt with you?   Because they can.  but to think its because only geeks like chess; is falling for stereotypes.   lots of people play chess here!  only a few of us say anything.

We've all seen someone who looks like that who catcalls cute girls wherever they go. Usually he stinks up the whole bus when he gets on as well. Very unpleasant.

  I would have to agree that changing your picture would very likely cut down on the flirting.Your handle sounds like a male player so it is likely that most players would assume you were a male with a different avartar. Of course if it really bothers you there is a disable chat button.

 btw i met the woman who eventually became my wife on a chess site so i can't completely scold the guys who flirt but i would say that any woman who is not interested in that should make it clear from the beginning and if the opponent continues just press the disable chat button.

It seems you are not aware that the legal age of consent in most US states is 16 ?  So you are off base with pedophilia charges here ... 

I find that the most abusive people are the men...and especially when I start winning, they seem to have an obsession with doing things with my mother....very strange
