Why does this happen in arena?

Why do I always get paired with either someone below my elo or someone like 300 higher, I know there is less players but why can't I just wait longer (I mostly play blitz arena)

I see quite normal pairing:

I got paired against a 880 at somepoint and a few 800s

The most recent games arent too bad

Could be worse

At least I only lose 1-2 rating but it is a waste of time meaning I won't likely win the arena

Maybe one day

I just got 3 much higher rated opponents in a row

In general, thr pairings you shoe are rearey if ever aboye 300, and definitely not 400.

In Arena, they could be conceivably higher, but only if it is impractical to do otherwise, as there are no close matches possible.

If you at say 400, and a player of 1800 are the only people in that Arena, who else can you play?

But that will never happen, you say,

Almost certainly not, but if you have top wait a minute even 30 seconds to get matched, then there will be complaints like" I do not like Arenas, because it takes ages to get matched."

Tye arenas have hundreds of even thousands of membees and its blitz

I just got 9th in one of the bullet arenas (1450 players) crossed 500 and got a 10 win streak, you might be right

Could've got like 7th but when i saw the arena was about to end i stressed and accidently fumbled a draw by repetition

The ratings do seem to be a bit more balanced in bullet
