Why is poker cool but chess is not?

This is a chess site yet there is much discussion of poker here by the posters. Since many chess players seem to be poker experts here is a poker puzzle.

a) What is the best hand to beat AA in a heads up game ( meaning that there are only two players ) apart from the trivial other AA ?

b) What is the percentage score of the above best hand against AA ?

Of course there are poker hand strength tables on the internet based on computer simulations. But these tables measure the strength of hands against the random hand. You can't use those to solve this problem since according to those tables the second best hand is KK which turns out to be a very weak hand to beat AA.

I know the exact answer to this question because I have run a computer simulation of all possible hands against AA. For each of the possible distinct hands the outcome of the game was determined for all possible board distributions. So I have a list of all possible hands with percentage chances to beat AA. My question is: which hand tops this list.

Bonus question:

c) What is the percentage score of KK against AA in a heads up game?

Poker is only "cool" to poker players. Chess is cool whether the masses can appreciate it (or perhaps better -- "recognize it") or not.

Any game played just for money is corrupted. Pinochle can be a great game. Play it for money, and it's garbage.

Poker requires betting. It's pointless if not impossible to play if nothing is at stake. Chess can be played for the pleasure of the game, with no money involved, and even no ratings points at stake.

Texas hold'em is a silly new variant of poker. It's apalling that it should have gained any following at all.

A man poor, monetarily speaking, can be rich in chess skill. A man too poor to play poker, will likely never get to play it, let alone appreciate it.

Poor people can use 2 sticks and play chess in the dirt...poker is all about the money, not the game. Any game that isn't about the game and the love of it, shouldn't even qualify for such discussions. If you say you love poker, remove the money element from it, you end up with a boring card game, with little or no point. Chess is far superior.

I personally like chess better as it's purely scientific where optimal moves and plans are determined by its laws.  This is why a bishop without a counterpart is so valuable for example.  You can calculate and assess based off positon whereas in Poker you don't know what cards the opponent has and even if you ask they can bluff, which takes much of the science out of it. 

Blackjack however has an element of math, if for example a couple of kings and twos were used up in previous rounds you can use that information in decision making for further rounds since those cards are now less likely to appear.  So if all the low cards were used up and you have a 15 it'd be best to not draw again since you'd almost definately go over 21. 

There is a lot of math, specifically probability, in poker. The strategy is also complex and the possibilities make it a very rich game. What you are getting to, Oogie, is that poker is not a perfect information game like chess or Go. Instead it is like Stratego where you have to make deductions based on what little information is available.

Chess isn't cool because of the losers and geeks that play it. 

"Cool Factor" is heavily related to "getting hot chicks" as well.

Chess = 0 hot chicks.

Kosteniuk is gross.  Some of the other chess chicks are hot though, like Marie Sebag and Irinia Krush hell yeah..

I was talking about how chess enhances the average player's practical chances in hooking up with hot chicks, which is zero.

Well duh!  No one gets into chess for the chicks!  And Kosteniuk isn't gross she has great hair and a gorgeous face! 

Yeah but banging hot chicks is way more important.  That's why chess is not cool.
